SnapDoc
- Manage and Distribute Business Photos
SnapDoc automatically manages and distributes digital
photographs
A
wide variety of service industries use digital
photographs as an extremely useful and valuable
resource. For example, a mortgage company will
take pictures of various properties or an insurance
company will capture the scene of an accident.
Having an image as a reference provides reliable
information that is beneficial throughout many
different fields. However, the process of capturing,
identifying and distributing an assortment of
images can be a difficult task, especially when
handling a large amount of pictures. FabSoft’s
SnapDoc simplifies this process by automating
the organization of images taken with a Ricoh
500SE digital camera with their metadata and
enabling them to be effortlessly distributed
to printers, fax, email and archive systems.
What's more, searches can be performed in order
to quickly and easily retrieve specific images.
SnapDoc works by using a form that
has a unique barcode(s) and metadata with Ricoh's
500SE digital camera equipped with barcode scanning
capabilities. The metadata on the form includes
information such as names, fax numbers, or email
addresses, and is used in order to distribute
the worksheet to printers, fax, and email systems.
It is also used to index the worksheet to digital
archive systems.

The Document Process with SnapDoc
Print & Photograph
Forms are created containing
a barcode and various metadata - client name, email
addresses, fax numbers, etc.
Using the Ricoh 500SE
digital camera, the user can scan the barcode and
then capture a picture(s).
If using the Ricoh 500SE's
GPS Module, GPS coordinates will be embedded in
all pictures taken.
Upload & Distribute
When the images are uploaded,
SnapDoc automatically links them with the form metadata
and places them on the document.
The form metadata is
used to archive and index the photographs in digital
archive systems.
If needed, searches can
be performed in order to quickly retrieve the pictures.
Metadata is also used
to automatically route the pictures to printers
or via fax and email and archive systems.
View GPS Coordinates
SnapDoc adds a link to
a map of the pictures’ GPS coordinates on the form
which allows users to view the location of where
the picture.
