Form Designer

Reform Form Editor is the program that allows users to enhance forms generated by their application. Using a WYSIWYG approach, you will find the Form Designer easy to use. In order for Reform to generate the printout that you need, you must create a template for each of your forms. The template serves as a new layout for each of the forms generated by your application. It is similar to pre-printed forms where the text is overlaid on the form. Whenever you generate a form output from your application, the form always has an extension FOM.

Reform has 3 methods of Form design listed from shortest to longest amount of time needed:

1. If you are sending from a Windows application and the application already has formatting or you are sending from an AS/400 using AFP formatting. With these methods there is very little design necessary because the application already has the formatting included such as lines, graphics, colors etc. The Reform Designer can also add additional formatting by mainly Reform will be used to distribute the documents to the different output devices such as pinters, MFPs, fax, email and archival storage systems. Reform will still extract the ASCII/text information in order to do logical decisions to decide maybe what devices to send the document to or just retrieve the email or fax number from the document.
2. Importing a backdrop, Reform can import backdrops from graphic images or graphic programs. One of the most common solutions is to scan in an existing form and apply it as a backdrop. Once you have inserted the backdrop then all you need to do is map your variable data from your application.
3. Creating the backdrop from scratch, the Reform Designer comes with all the tools necessary to create any type of backdrop for your forms. The Reform Designer is very easy to use it uses WYSIWYG approach.
