Once
FabSoft's Reform has received the initial print stream from any operating
system, inbound capture utility, line of business application, etc.
Reform can enhance the print stream and send the information
to Printers, Fax Systems,
Email Systems and
Archive Systems.
Reform can print to any Windows printer driver, providing the
flexibility to print to any device such as digital copy machines,
dot matrix printers, laser printers, bar-code printers, label
printers, fax machines and more. Reform can extract the features and functions of any of these devices and control advanced options
such as duplexing, bin and tray control, collating, media type,
paper size, colors, location, etc. One print job can even be distributed to multiple printers, with full command over the options of each printer. And since Microsoft Windows printer
drivers have the ability to send documents to printers in the LAN, WAN or
Internet using technology such as LPR/LPD and TCP/IP, documents can be sent locally or anywhere around the world.
Reform sends to Windows printer drivers at a quick rate of
over 400 pages per minute per spooler. Loading forms onto each device has proven to be very restrictive and unreliable in the past. Alternatively, since computers, networks and Reform all run at high speeds, Reform sends a complete print job to the destination device so users will have total and reliability while maintaining these speeds.
With Reform, the windows printer driver can select the language of communication
with its device. For example, if a PCL windows printer
driver is selected, Reform will send a vector PCL print format to
that printing device.
Selecting a printer:
1.) Assign a printer to a specific form in the form settings. Example: If an invoice is used, it can be set to print to the invoice printer every time.
2.) Passing the name of the printer in the initial print job, Reform will recognize the printer name and use that printer.
3.) Some of Reform's inbound connection utilities can prompt the user for the name of the form to use. Each of these forms can have a different printer assigned to it.
4.) When making different copies of a form, each copy can go to a different printer. This allows the user to select the form that corresponds to the printer they wish to use.
