| The Hopper program will design flat layouts that can be bent up into a hopper shape object. The questions refer to thickness, length and height. A dimension line will appear on the hopper referring to each question. The hopper changes shape according to the inputs. The hopper display is not full scale, but in proportion to the full size hopper. The output answer can be in decimal or fractions. If decimal is selected, the output will be rounded to the nearest thousands. If fractions are selected, you must select accuracy, this means the output will be displayed in fractional form and rounded to the accuracy chosen. There will be a menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen to go to different sections of the program. The layout page display will display a layout in proportion and not full scale. The layout will give a picture of the hopper layout in proportion to itself and intersection points in coordinate format. |

| Thickness Thickness of metal that will be use in the hopper. Folds Number of bends for the full hopper. Length The question will be highlighted by a dash line (do not confuse with hidden lines in background). Inside or Outside depending on the information given about the hopper (example, if dimension is given from outside to outside then select outside diameter and input correct diameter). Offset Hopper can be offset left to right and front to back. The direction of the positive and negative arrows will help you pick the offset required. |

Layout The Hopper layout uses the point coordinate system to define the line length and locations. Points B, C, D and E will be the corners of the rectangle and reference points for the location of the lines. In the example above, the lines start at the letter and end at the numbers (example, line B1 starts at letter B and ends at 1). The line in some cases share points as in figure above, number 5 is the ending point for letter B and C. The single layout pieces can be accessed by the main menu to view single sides of the hopper and are laid out in the same way as the full layout. |
