AI File Pro has always done two things exceptionally well: it organizes any kind of file by reading and understanding its content, and it lets you ask natural-language questions across what you've organized. Until now, you drove all of that from AI File Pro's own interface.
Today, AI File Pro also speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — the open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools. That means any MCP-capable assistant — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and others — can operate AI File Pro directly. You describe what you want; the assistant drives the product. Same engine, new surface.
What your assistant can do
- Organize by content. Point it at a folder with a plain-English instruction — "sort these by the matter name on each pleading" — and AI File Pro reads each file and builds the folder structure to match. No pre-defined buckets, no tagging.
- Ask questions across everything. Index a set of files once, then ask: "Which of these statements shows a wire transfer over $10,000?" Answers come back with the actual source passages cited, so you can verify rather than trust blindly.
- Fine-tune without starting over. Lock a single file to a specific folder or rename an output, and those choices stick even when the rest is re-organized.
- Set up watchers. Have your assistant install a folder watcher so new files get organized automatically as they arrive.
Careful by design
Letting an assistant touch your files should never feel risky, so the safety model is built in:
- Preview first, always. Every organize run starts as a dry run — the assistant shows you exactly where each file would land and waits. Change your mind on a folder, and it revises. Nothing touches disk until you commit.
- Copy by default. Your originals are never moved unless you explicitly choose to.
- Fully audited. Every action your assistant takes is logged — which tool, what it did, and when.
Connecting your assistant
There are two ways to connect, depending on where your assistant runs:
- On the same computer as AI File Pro (Windows): your assistant connects locally with zero configuration — no ports, no network setup.
- From another computer on your network (say, a Mac driving the Windows machine in the closet): turn on the network listener, set an API key, and connect over your LAN. One machine runs AI File Pro; anyone on the network can drive it — no second seat, no VPN.

What it costs
Nothing changes. AI File Pro is still a flat $4 per GB of content processed, with a free 1 GB to start. Driving it from an assistant adds no per-seat, per-agent, or per-request fee — and you're only charged when a plan is actually applied. Previewing and revising are free.
Who it's for
This is a power-user feature. If you already work inside an AI assistant, it turns AI File Pro into something you can operate by conversation. If you don't — the AI File Pro app you already know works exactly as it always has. Nothing about the product you rely on has changed; this is simply one more way in.
